if you are flying in winter, wear warm clothes as the queue for security is likely to extend for some 40 yards outside the terminal. Still, it didn't take me much more than half an hour to pass through.

I like the free admission. I don't like the 10 USD for parking. Basically the right thing to do but strange for a car-focused society like the US.

unfortunately I didn't memorize the name but there's a great and very affordable Sushi place near the Western end of the block. I had very good soft shell crab, California rolls (I wanted Las Vegas rolls but they had run out of smelt eggs - they threw in an additional 4 rolls free of charge) and California tempura rolls. If I ever come to LA again I know where I'll go for food...

they do concentrate on the basics here: the sandwich consists of bread dipped in meat juice, beef (or lamb, turkey...) and nothing else. You can get cheese if you pay extra but no cole slaw / tomato / lettuce / cucumber / onions - nothing. I like it that way but be aware that they serve food for your stomach, not for your eyes.

and in the real world it isn't the City Hall but the headquarters of the Daily Planet. You can't make out the offices of Clark Kent and Lois Lane, though.

Was a residential neighborhood that was razed to make way for public housing that was never built. Origins of the Los Angeles Clover Street Gang. The street is no longer there, but the gang lives on.
