Great community! Cameo Woods is a 384 Unit gated condominium complex set on 27 tree lined, landscaped acres. Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, some say it’s the best kept secret on the west side. Located minutes from LAX, Beverly Hills, and the up and coming Helms Bakery, Hayden Tract and Downtown districts of Culver City, Cameo Woods’ location can’t be beat. Come the summer of 2010, Cameo Woods residents will have the luxury of walking just a few blocks to the new Expo line station at LaCienega and Jefferson Boulevards.
Amenities for residents include 24 hour gate attendants, pool and 2 spas, tennis court, dog run, on-site property manager, club house facility, and more.

Westchester local trivia: Lynette "Squeaky" Fromm was a 9th grader here in the 1962-1963 school year. If you know just where to look, you can still read her name where she scratched it in wet cement on a nearby side walk.

This place changed hands and was remodeled almost two years ago. It is now known as The York, and bills itself as a "Gastropub". Very Dog Friendly in that they have rings attached to the front of the pub for securing your dogs next to the big open windows. They also have water bowls for dogs.

This used to be the music scoring stage when Columbia Pictures owned the lot. Originally it was built for filming. The old Vitaphone sound booth can be seen up on the north wall. Many years ago it was covered over with soundproofing material when Columbia moved the booth to the back wall.

The Janss family later traded most of Westwood Village for Sun Valley, Idaho, with some brightly-colored baubles thrown in.
The Janss Corporation was active in developing over 10,000 acres of prime land in Southern California, but went out of business in the early 1980's.
