The third picture, taken from the LA Public Library photo database, shows the large colonial revival residence located on Carlos Avenue in Hollywood, identified as once having been the home of E. W. Twist. In 1916 this house became the first location of the Hollywood Studio Club.

The last picture shows the former Lankershim Flats building, which used to occupy this site until it was torn down so Bullock's could go up in its place.

This is a historic landmark due to its fantastic Streamline Moderne architecture. Why would you remove links explaining the history of the station and photographs of this building?

It's a decent place to stay for less than $100 a night. The pool is nice. Many European and out of town tourists stay here. Lots of regulars (salesmen, truck drivers). For the price, it's fine. Comes with free breakfast.

There used to be a statue out front of a young Myrna Loy (famous actress of the 30's and 40's). Apparently she was only 16 when, as a student there, she posed for the statue. This was long before she became a movie star. Here's a link to some info on the statue: http://www.seeing-stars.com/Immortalized/MyrnaLoy.shtml
