Hi,
I used to go to Pandora's Box when your Dad played with "Us". I had a huge crush on him and hung out with him a few times. My bests friends like Tinker and Jack Oldham. Are they still alive and well? This is the first time I've been able to ask anyone about them. They were a great band and played Stones and Beatles. We loved going there and seeing them.
Thanks, Teri

You have the address wrong too. It's definitely in the 3700 block of S Norton Ave, and north of Coliseum Street. The landmarks visible in the original crime scene photos confirm it.

The house had an initial address of 3000 Grandview Trail (later changed to Grandview Trail) ca. 1940 and later 3041 Vale Vista Trail. McDermott took his life here in his "Crazy House" on July 21, 1946. The year following his death, the house caught fire and was severely damaged. It changed hands several times over the next few years and finally razed in 1962 when it did not meet building safety codes.

Probably one of two explanations: 1. It's too close to two other exits onto Cahuenga Boulevard. 2. This offramp is fairly steep, the other exits which remain open are much flatter which is easier for trucks.

It should be noted that the Mathnet unit was fictional. "Mathnet" was a segment of a children's television show called Square One TV, which was developed by the Children's Television Workshop (the people behind Sesame Street) and aimed to make learning math more fun. "Mathnet" was a segment on this show that parodied the old Dragnet series and featured two mathematicians, played by Joe Howard and Beverly Leech, who solved crimes using mathematics. It was not a real unit of the LAPD. However, the building was used as the exterior of Mathnet HQ on the show. :)
