    My first job that gave me a W-2 was working the concession stand (Brownies) at San Fernando Drag Strip. We had to add the item costs in our head and only used the cash register to record the total. The pink lemonade was a mix of Collins mixer and cherry syrup. Was lots of fun

    There have been bicycle endurance climb contests up this 20% grade road. In the 1980s the Mountain GAte Century ride was held here. Only a few of the riders finished the 100 miles which meant 100 round-trips. at a 20% grade it meant they has ascended 20 vertical miles.
