Used to be a Mexican restaurant that was popular with pseudo-celebrities.
  • La Brea Tar Pits Lagoon , scritch wrote 16 years ago:
Thousands upon thousands of Pleistocene animals died in these tar lagoons. Covered by a thin layer of water, the animals would wade in, get stuck, and perish. A bane for them, a boon for us in the form of fantastically-preserved skeletal remains and assemblages of animal remains who lived concurrently.

  • Jaws, Knox (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
This is the "set" from Jaws, the night scene when Richard Dryfus swims to inspect a boat adrift. Granted it's rather silly now, but was used in the filming of that scene. I know this as a fact. Other than that, most of the film was at Martha's Vineyard. The original billboard of welcome to Amity Island is from the original as well.
  • Gilligan's Island lagoon set (historical site), Knox (guest) wrote 16 years ago:
Incorrect information, the Lagoon was a little further to the west, the location is the Melody Ranch and Barn.
  • Ellen Degeneres/Will Ferrell home, phiz wrote 16 years ago:
