i live in Hollywood too ... nothing speacial but i think for some person's who doesn't live here they think if they live here they can see artist just walking around ... still... not ... but i hope it can be like that ... and here in hollywood it's kinda noisy,traffic,and lots of people who talk different like sayig bad words that's all

This used to be the site of the Harold Lloyd Motion Picture Company. Harold sold it on 23rd March 1937 to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Actually, Baldwin Village was given the nickname "The Jungle" long before the film "Training Day" or any gang affilliation with the neighborhood. The name stems from the plush landscaping used during it's development in the late 50's.

Kennneth MacDonald Jr. the architect died in 1937, as did the owner of the house Leon Kauffman. The Villa De Leon was completed in 1927. It took 5 years to build and cost one million dollars. The gardens which originally were on the hillside below the house were destroyed when the city widened Porto Marina road in 1940.

Joe Gillis, in "Sunset Blvd." says he lives "in an apartment above Franklin and Ivar." This is the building that he refers to, but it is above Yucca and Ivar, and below Franklin and Ivar. The scene looks down Ivar at an intersection implying it is Franklin and Ivar, but it is actually Yucca and Ivar.
