I was born there August 30, 1968 just after 9 p.m. and am searching for my birth parents... does this ring a bell for any mothers that birthed there that night and gave their baby girl up for adoption?

The only way the city could prevent another body from being dumped there was to add a "No Parking" sign. If they can't park there, they can't dump a body there. What else could they do?

This building has gone through some drastic renovation. The outside walls were kept upright, propped up, with steel I-beam columns while the interior was gutted and replaced with a wood-frame structure. This appears to be complete as the steel I-beams have been removed, the entire exterior painted (gray and light gray trim), and an additional two stories added to the interior.

Mitchell Frank has transformed the Regent into a music venue. In the process, Knitting Factory Entertainment restored the marquee and completely restored or reworked the interior. So far, this adaptive reuse has not disturbed the neighbors nor has it added to the general disorder of the area.

To call it "second-hand" is misleading since they sell new releases. They also host book-signings, sell vinyl records, and host near weekly book and poetry readings.
They are more than a second-hand bookstore.

I believe this a railroad related name rather than a settlement. Nothing called "Gaspur" shows up on topo maps I viewed from 1896 to 1963. There is, however, a spur line that leaves the old Southern Pacific Long Beach branch line here, and I think this is what is actually Gaspur.
