  • Beverly House Compound - Former home of William Randolph Hearst, wrote 16 years ago:
Originally built for Milton Getz{VP Union Bank and Trust} c. 1926 by Gordon B. Kaufman{La Collina} at a cost of $1,000.000.00 in 1920's dollars. Marion Davies got the bargin of the decade{1946} when she paid $120,000! House renamed Beverly House. Hearst needed to be in the city because of declining health leaving San Simeon for the last time may 2, 1947. He died August 14, 1951. Marion Davies had purchased 1501 Lexington Road, but Hearst found the place "cramped". This lead her to purchase this estate. In a mean twist of fate Marion deeded 1501 Lexington Road to Hearst to maintain the fiction that they weren't living together. When he died the Hearst Corp. demolished the home.

GeoX presupposes a couple of things here: 1. That Travolta arrived in L.A. (or Encino, as the case may be...) already a rich man. He fails to considerthat J.T may have lived in anything but a mansion. 2. GeoX seems to assume that Travolta arrived in L.A. with a Gulfstream jet attached to his hip. Maybe he got his multi-engine rating with his California learner's permit. 3.That I have no research skills. MULTIPLE web-pages list this as a former Travolta abode. Go ahead, just Google the address 4810 Woodley Ave. See what it says... Also, this house is listed for sale at over 1 million U.S. Hardly a "humble home" price, especially for Encino! Heres a look... http://www.realtor.com/property-search/Encino_CA/Woodley-Ave Hers an estimated price: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/4810-Woodley-Ave-Encino-CA-91436/19981346_zpid/ I'll add pertinent info, when this is undeleted (address, catagories, and a nice disclaimer warning this is a private address, DO NOT APPROACH THIS HOUSE OR TRESSPASS ect. ect.
