Lisa May stopped giving traffic reports on 03/04/15. She actually worked for Total Traffic a company that provided the reports to KROQ. Reportedly, Kevin and Bean themselves made the decision to terminate May, The logic being that no one tunes in to KROQ for news or traffic, and it was time to take the show in a fresh new direction.

That circular house from The Fast And The Furious (a.k.a. Ridgetop by architect David L. Fowler) was originally located here. The home was demolished around 2002 so that the current "home" could be built. More here: http://obsidianarchitecture.com/blog/2015/4/8/that-circular-house-from-the-fast-and-the-furious

A monument dedicated to a man who brought life to Southern California, regrettably, accidents will happen. That's an unfortunate reality of life, deal with it.

Dreamworks didn't just "walk away" ... They were DENIED their permit because of the flimsy reasoning that a "Studio" would result in too much traffic(?); Tell that to anyone who lives on the west side and is trying to drive past the way-overcrowded housing fiasco (Playa Vista) on Lincoln Blvd & Jefferson during the weekend. What a joke! Political corruption at its best. Also for the record, Van Helsing, XXX-State of the Union, World Police, Lords of Dogtown and a ton of others were shot here. I should know as I managed the stages for a while.

  • Chatsworth Nature Preserve and Reservoir (site), Phil (guest) wrote 10 years ago:
Legend has it that the Chatsworth Reservoir was drained as a precautionary measure due to the 1972 earthquake. Yet, the fact remains that it was drained in 1969 to make way for a Diversion Tunnel to, as reports say..."Improve the Quality of Water" Other reports created from a Nuclear and Rocket Research Facility within the reservoir watershed, somewhat back this up. One report is the Preliminary Safety Evaluation of the SRE or Sodium Reactor Experiment, a Atomic/Nuclear Research Reactor located within a structure known as the Burro Flats Fault, connecting Runkle Canyon and the Chatsworth Reservoir. Before the reactor was built, concerns were that, in case of Emergency, the reservoir water would be rerouted from other reservoirs...for an indefinite period of time.

I lived in this house at 2713 Severence St from 1988 to 1991. I did a LOT of work on the building. I know all the details which reveal its true history. Watch "The Conjuring". It is about the Craig Family, who built the house across the street in 1888, but moved it to its present location after it was nearly demolished in a turn of the century earthquake. It sits in the riverbed, not on the bedrock (Manis House down the street replaced it).
