  • Garcia House, lautnerfan (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
This house was not called "Rainbow House". It was named Garcia House after the original owners. Also, it is Hollwood Hills, not West Hollywood. Don't see where I can edit to fix that.
  • Griffith Park, D-J (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
I live close by - couple of blocks. I think it was over a 40% area. Lots of brushes were burnt. It looks amazing, like a moon landscape, with new vegetation growing all ready. Most of the park has opened again, except the area closest to my house...

  • Mt. Fiji, JP (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
Occidental College has been trying to develop the base of Mt. Fiji, which would include substantial grading of the slope of the hil, for the past several years. Neighbors of the college prevented this grading and preserved the open space by defeating the college's proposal to place a lighted softball field at the base of the hill in 2001. However, as a result of the Occidental College's proposed master plan, to be released by the end of 2007, the area is once again threatened with unnecessary development. This development is to consist of either a softball field (yet again) or with multi-story faculty housing completely out of keeping with the single family dwellings in the numberhood and with the narrow, winding hillside streets.
