  • Ralph's, laxtransitpassenger (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
Ralph's is the closest supermarket to all of the LAX hotels and it's open 24 hours. Next door is a 24 hour pharmacy and also a Starbucks where a lot of hot women hang out. Anyway, I went to Ralph's to get some milk, fruit, and granola bars, and the bill came to $14.50, so I asked Rick, the cashier, if I could borrow his Ralph's Card to take advantage of the specials. "Ain't got one," he said. In all my travels, that's the first time I've heard that response. So, I said, "Can you sign me up, then? I'm not gonna pay full price." And he said, "Type in your phone number." "I don't know what that's gonna do, since I've never signed up for a card." Then he asked a nice Asian woman behind me if she had a card. She didn't have it with her but she typed in her phone number and presto, the bill was cut to under $10. Thank you, nice lady! And nuts to Ralph's and their price discrimination. Why does corporate America feel no shame in ripping off poor suckers?

Hebrew (עברית, ‘Ivrit) is a Semitic language of the Afro-Asiatic language family spoken by more than six million people in Israel and by an unknown number of people in Jewish communities around the world. In Israel, it is the de facto language of the state and the people, as well as being one of the two official languages (together with Arabic), and it is spoken by the majority of the population. • Dog Town (William Mead Homes), Lonewolf (guest) wrote 18 years ago:
William Mead Homes is the name of the Housing Projects on North Main Street, but the neighborhood name of DOG TOWN goes back to the prior century, and plenty of newspaper articles testify to the name being in use for the neighborhood. The old Dog Town was centered on Cardinal Street which ran all across the L.A. river from around present day College Street, to Clover Street on the east side.
